Gerua, the first song from the film Dilwale, was released last night amidst a lot of fanfare. The track is composed by Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra. The song features one of the most loved jodis of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol.
The music of the track is soulful and impressive. But, the tune of the hook phrase is a bit similar to the track Ishq Hua Hi Hua from Aaja Nachle. Arijit and Antara have sung the track wonderfully.
Visually, the song will hurt your eyes. CGI effects used in the track are irritating. Locations are pathetic and costumes are tacky. The colours used in the track make it horrible. The only good location is the snow. What was Rohit Shetty thinking while making these two stars run on water? Mr. Shetty, they are in their 50s and 40s now. One more thing – the dupatta flying romance days are gone now. So, why serve that to your urban audience in 2015?
SRK and Kajol have tried their best to save the track with their chemistry. But, at some places they too look a bit uncomfortable with each other. This proves that two actors can create their magic only if they are directed by a good director.
Dilwale will be releasing on 18th Dec and it will be clashing with Bajirao Mastani. And it looks like the pathetic trailer and below average song of Dilwale might make people watch Bajirao Mastani first.
Anyway, watch Gerua here:
