Khamoshiyan has the standard Sufi-rock fare that we have come to associate with Bhatt productions. It’s the same guitars, similar lyrics and the same Arijit Singh.
Arijit is a gifted singer who has brought a new-age vitality to the waning art of playback singing but in the title track he sounds as though he’s on autopilot. The lyrics as well as the composition sounds too worn out.
Khamoshiyan written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Karan Darra is a horror flick on a writer (Ali Fazal), who in search of a story, meets Sapna and finds her mysteriously interesting. Music is composed by Ankit Tiwari and Jeet Ganguly.
Last but not least, the film made under the Bhatt effect; has gained enough publicity and audience response.
Mahesh Bhatt stated that, “It is not who say what that grabs people’s attention, but what is being said that finally cuts through the clutter. The trailer of Khamoshiyan which features newcomers has proved this point by garnering phenomenal online interest. And it’s growing as we speak.”
Gurmeet Choudhary who makes his Bollywood debut with this one looks good. However the song belongs to the Sapna Pabbi.
“I got a lot of love and support when I was on television, This is a new start for me. Of course I am nervous, but, I’m with good people and I’ve worked from my heart.” However, he declined to talk about his role, “I can’t say anything about my character now.” states Gurmeet.
The film is being directed by Karan Darra and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under the banners of Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios.
Khamoshiyan stars Ali Fazal, Sapna Pabbi and Gurmeet Choudhary and is slated to hit the theatres on January 30, 2015.
