Sidharth Malhotra is the man in demand post the success of Ek Villain as he has signed on three plum projects; one with Karan Malhotra, the second one with Vikramaditya Motwane and the third one with Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Karan Johar.
Sidharth Malhotra, who was recently signed on for the official remake of the Hollywood film Warriors that has been titled Brothers and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi, has bagged yet another film, this time with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The third film would be a co-production between Excel Entertainment and Dharma Productions.
Confirming the same, Ritesh Sidhwani stated that both Sidharth and Karan have come on board for the project. However, it was the latter who played an important role in getting Karan Johar on board when he mentioned the project to him in a conversation. The yet untitled film is said to be a love story with a twist, about a time traveler, with a romance which spans across timelines.
While the film that will be directed by debutante Nitya Mehra is expected to go on floors by April 2015, the leading lady will be locked in another four five days.
Coming to his other two projects; in Karan Malhotra’s film Sidharth essays the character of a boxer and in Vikramaditya Motwane’s film he plays a Gujarati Robin Hood.
“I reprise Tom Hardy‘s character, a boxer, in the Hindi version. It’s become another film altogether, darker and more dramatic, much like Karan’s treatment of his directorial debut Agneepath.” informs Sidharth.
While Vikramaditya Motwane remains tightlipped about the details of his project, Sidharth confirms that the plan is to spin a franchise, depending on the response to the first film. When quizzed on whether he plays a Gujarati superhero, he quickly clarified, “No. Bhavesh Joshi is just a name. He is a regular, middle-class Mumbaikar who assumes another nocturnal identity and becomes a masked crusader out to protect the city, like Batman and Gotham. He doesn’t have any superpowers, only skills.”
Post Ek Villain, looks like Sidharth Malhotra has his hands full.
