The actor, who has been a part of the first two versions, essaying the character of lovable Raju, will be missing from the third version, resulting in the viewers missing the antics of trio, Shyam, Raju and Baburao.
According to reports, the makers very much wanted Akshay Kumar to be a part of Hera Pheri too. However, a demand of exorbitant amount of remuneration made by Akshay Kumar is said to have put the production house on the back foot.
Although there were several rounds of talks between the actor and the production house to arrive at a amicable solution, things failed to materialised, leaving the makers with no choice but to go in for a replacement
Well, we hear that he demanded an amount almost close to Rs 50 crore to be part of Hera Pheri 3. However, the makers couldn’t meet Akshay’s proposal and therefore the latter walked out from the project.
Says a source, “Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal agreed to what was being offered to them but Akshay wanted an astronomical amount. So, the makers had no option but to find another actor. The film was anyway delayed due to several rounds of conversation with him.”
Hera Pheri 3 will now have actors Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham coming in place of Akshay, with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal’s characters being retained from the original version.
Hera Pheri 3 will once again be directed by Neeraj Vora, who also directed the second part of this comic caper titled Phir Hera Pheri. The names of actresses essaying the female leads are yet to be disclosed.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Hera Pheri had Tabu, Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar along with Paresh Rawal and was a major hit. The second movie Phir Hera Pheri was directed by Neeraj Vora and was also an instant hit.
