Shalini Thackeray Comes Onboard With Tabrez Noorani’s Love Sonia

Shalini Thackeray has been a driving force behind Cinemantra Production and Samraaj Talkies – the two most prominent production platforms that aim at showcasing content-driven cinema to the audience across languages.
Shalini Thackeray now has joined hands with Tamasha Talkies for Tabrez Noorani’s Love Sonia that recently won the Best Indie Film award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Starring Mrunal Thakur, Richa Chadha, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao and Freida Pinto based on the global issue of human trafficking, Love Sonia is slated to release on 14th September 2018.

After Cinemantra’s smash-hit Lai Bhaari, starring Riteish Deshmukh, Shalini Thackeray is all set to helm Love Sonia under the banner of Samraaj Talkies. Commenting on her first production venture, Shalini said, “In the wake of social issues, movies like Love Sonia prove to be an eye-opener to the world. I am extremely happy and proud to be a part of this heroic journey of Sonia that took director, Tabrez Noorani 13 years of hard work and efforts to narrate.”
Love Sonia narrates the tale of a girl who sets out to rescue her sister from human traffickers. Adding further, co-producer Amar Butala said, “Love Sonia presents the issue of human trafficking, the film comes at a relevant time because it’s a story of a 17-year-old girl and it’s great to have Shalini Thackeray partner with us in India.”
Director Tabrez Noorani said, “It feels great to have a partner like Shalini Thackeray who is an accomplished producer, as we present an unadulterated version of Love Sonia to the audience in India”

The film has a strong ensemble cast including Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadha, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Sai Tamhankar, Sunny Parwar, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Noorani is introducing Mrunal Thakur as well as Riya Sisodiya. Love Sonia is scheduled to release in India on 14th September 2018.
