Salman Khan accepted the invite sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Clean India Campaign and transformed a part of Karjat.
Salman Khan initiated a clean-up drive in Karjat and shared pictures of himself along with his team sweeping and cleaning up.
He even took on to Twitter to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for including him in the campaign and wrote, “I once again thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking up the Swachh Bharat initiative and nominating me.”
Salman Khan nominated nine prominent personalities including Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Rajnikanth and Aamir Khan to join the campaign.
He even nominated all his fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter and stated that each one of us can make a difference.
“I nominate the following for Swachh Bharat campaign and request them to further nominate nine more people.First, I nominate my fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter. Each one of us can make a difference. And I nominate Aamir Khan, Azim Premji, Chanda Kochhar, Omar Abdullah, Pradeep Dhoot, Rajat Sharma, Rajinikanth and Vineet Jain.” tweeted the superstar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated Salman Khan for wielding the broom and stated that Salman Khan’s cleanliness initiative will inspire several people to join Government’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission.

Launching the Clean India Campaign on October 02, 2014 the Prime Minister had roped in nine celebrities including cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, industrialist Anil Ambani and several actors including Salman Khan to spread awareness on cleanliness and make Swachh Bharat a people’s movement.
