National award winning director Ravi Jadhav who has made Marathi movies including Natarang, Balak Palak and Timepass, is ready to make his Bollywood debut with Eros International’s Banjo. It is a musical drama featuring Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri. The film will roll by this yearend or beginning of 2016. The two actors will also be seen together in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 3, which they have recently started filming.
Producer Krishika Lulla confirmed the news as she said, “I’m happy Riteish and Nargis have come on board. I wanted actors who would fall in love with the subject and give it their all. It’s an apt part for Nargis who plays a girl from abroad who is visiting India. We will be organizing some workshops closer to the time they begin shooting,” Now the question is whether the two actors will be seen romancing each other. To this Krishika replied, “Whether they fall in love or not is for the audience to find out when they watch the film.”
Everything about the film and the story are under hushed tones for now. All we can say for sure is the story of Banjo reflects the essence of Marathi culture. Lulla also expressed, “It’s all about the banjo guys. I can’t reveal much at this point in time, but it’s a beautiful script.”
