There has been too much spoken and written about him. Multiple reports claim that court-cases over controversial lyrics, some say that he was on the run because the Nagpur police had booked him in a case of indecency and last but not the least a much talked about fall out with his Chennai Express collaborator Shah Rukh Khan and substance abuse, has resulted in a rehab stint for the rapper.
This talented rapper-singer even missed the entire season of his own reality show India’s Raw Star and was then conspicuous by his absence at Shah Rukh Khan’s SLAM tour where he was set to perform.
While some reports stated that speculation was also rife that he had gone into depression after Shah Rukh Khan slapped him in public.
And it looks like the news about Shah Rukh slapping Yo Yo Honey Singh is certainly not all rumour and has some truth to it. Well, atleast that’s what Honey Singh’s frequent collaborator, his lyricist, who goes by the name of Yo suggests.
“Neither of them may own up to it but I don’t think Honey Singh will ever work with Shah Rukh Khan again,” Yo was quoted by a tabloid.
Reportedly, a tiff took place between Shah Rukh and Honey Singh during the former’s SLAM tour where the latter was set to perform. And it is during this tour, King Khan slapped him post which Honey Singh went into depression.
Word also has it that Honey was battling drug abuse problems and went to a rehab to clean up his act in time. And a recent report suggested that the rapper will be back to public life soon. However, Singh’s lyricist says otherwise.
“He’s still not made contact with the team of artistes he usually works with and has even changed his cell phone numbers. He told his team that he is taking a break to go home and spend time with his family. But instead, he checked himself into a rehab centre in Chandigarh in October. We worked through the night on the lyrics of Aata Majhi Satakli. That was the last time I met him. I have never seen him use drugs while working. But the rest of the time he was always high.” Yo was quoted by a tabloid.
When contacted, Honey Singh’s spokesperson said, “Honey Singh was unwell and recovering at home in Delhi. He will be back soon.”
