This movie is Varun Dhawan’s best performance by far!
The frame opens with a Delhi metro scene and a group of hotel management trainees, which are working in a posh 5-star hotel of the city. Dan (Varun Dhawan) is the frustrated one in the lot and hates doing the cleaning and washing there. He wants to open a restaurant and Shiuli (Banita Sandhu) on the other hand, is a young, intelligent and hard-working girl. On New Year’s Eve, an accident (and no, it’s not a car accident) happens which changes the life of Dan steadily and he feels responsible towards Shiuli and her family, especially, Shiuli’s mother (Geetanjali Rao).
Shoojit Sircar has once again proved that masterpieces can be made in Indian cinema. He has yet again managed to deliver a cinematically brilliant film, which needs to be watched to understand the true emotion of love. Juhi Chaturvedi’s beautiful writing and dialogues adds the charm. Both of them together make a great team!
Varun Dhawan is the soul of the film. He shines bright with his performance and yet again we just can’t stop wondering what a brilliant actor he is! Banita proves in her first film itself that she is here for a long run. She couldn’t have gotten any better debut film than this one. Geetanjali Rao played the role of a strong mother very tactfully. Hats off to the woman!
The film is technically rich and the background score, as expected, is amazing!
We would just say that it would be a mistake to miss this one because this film has won our hearts! We give October 4.5 stars with a big kink!
