Nagarjuna, who was recently nominated one of ambassadors for the Clean India Campaign (Swachh Bharat Campaign), unveiled a website to spread awareness about the programme and encourage people’s participation.
His website, www.nag4swachhbharat.org, will also use millions of Nagarjuna’s fans on social-networking platforms to create micro level ambassadors and organise Swachh Bharat events.
Talking about the website, Nagarjuna, who has several followers on Twitter and Facebook, said, “It will also use the ever powerful social media platforms and leverage his million facebook and twitter followers to create micro level ambassadors and create Swachh Bharat Events.”
Nagarjuna was nominated by Anil Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Group, as his ambassador to spread the Clean India Campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with his sons, the actor took to the street to carry out his commitment to strengthen the movement today (October 26, 2014) near Annapurna Studios.
“Thank You, Anil Ambani for keeping faith and inviting me to the clean india movement. I accept the challenge Anil.” wrote Nagarjuna on his Twitter account post he was challenged by Anil Ambani.
Nagarjuna advocated use of litter bins and take time to clean garbage on the streets to keep the surroundings hygienic.
“This is not an act of one time event, it is a translation of my pledge to keep neighbourhood clean, create many more ambassadors and collaborate with like minded people across the region to expand and sustain Swachh Bharat Movement.” Nagarjuna said in his official statement.
As part of the challenge, Nagarjuna nominated nine ambassadors to spread awareness on a clean India and to take the campaign forward. The nominees include Major Shiva Kiran, Syed Mazhar Hussain, Krithiga Reddy, Mujeeb Khan, Pullela Gopichand, Allu Arjun, Sudeep and his fans.
Nagarjuna’s family, boasts of huge fan base in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni’s involvement in the campaign of Clean India Campaign (Swachh Bharat Campaign) is expected to bring about a great change in both the states.
