Movie Review: Bang Bang – A Head Banging Experience

bang bang-05It’s a spoiler, it’s illogical and it’s only style and no substance; well we are talking about Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang that compels you to bang your head post coming out of the theater.

Rajveer Nanda (Hrithik Rosha) has to steal the dazzling Kohinoor from a London museum. He successfully does the theft but decides not to hand it over to Zafar. Thus starts a chase between the two and that’s what Bang Bang is all about.

By the way, Rajveer meets Harleen Sahni (Katrina Kaif), an innocent bank receptionist.

Harleen who is mesmerized with Rajveers’s charm and good looks, starts meeting him often. The naive girl who is unaware of the entire Kohinoor drama eventually falls in love with Rajveer and thus gets trapped.

Hrithik Roshan has performed some daredevil stunts while on a bike, jet-skiing and fly-boarding, making the flick high on its death-defying stunts. But sadly that does not make a good film.

The action in Bang Bang is mindless, there are sudden song sequences and the narrative his hugely predictable. Sadly Bang Bang disappoints you at every step.

In all of this there is Jimmy Shergill who comes and then vanishes and of course there is Katrina Kaif. The makes have kept her role as meaty as it was in Dhoom 3 thinking that this one too will hit the bulls eyes at the Box Office.

Pawan Malhotra (Zorawar) and Jaaved Jaffrey (Hamid Gul) are also present in the film but then they are just there as their characters are not etched out.

Siddharth Anand has just concentrated on the look and marketing of the film as the rest of Bang Bang is all over the place. Coming to the backbone of Bang Bang, the script, well it’s just an amalgamation of scenes and more scenes. An officer is getting killed and her mother is crying on the other side of the phone. Wow that’s so innovative.

Coming to Abbas Tyrewala, looks like he was sleep walking while penning the dialogues of the film as non of them are coherent to the situations.

Bang Bang is a mindless remake of Knight And Day. Watch it only if you are a Hrithik Rosha fan.
