Ab Tak Chhappan 2 is all about politicians, their ways of working, corruption and last but not the least their dhoti’s. Oops!!
The film is all about Sadhu Agashe (Nana Patekar), who is brought back into the police force by former police chief Pradhan (Mohan Agashe), much to the discomfort of a junior cop Suryakant Thorat (Ashutosh Rana). Why is Suryakant Thorat, we don’t know.
The moment Sadhu Agashe is back, he starts killing people. Now who are these people, where did Sadhu Agashe find them and why are they being killed, we don’t know.
We also have a Home Minister (Vikram Gokhale), doing what we still do not know post seeing the film.
In all of this walks in Gul Panag, who is a crime reporter. Now instead of writing articles or finishing her deceased father’s book on cops she is busy hanging about with Sadhu Agashe, guess just to fill in the screen and trying hard to track suspects down.
From the plot to production values, from direction to the background score; there is nothing that’s great about this one.
On one had it’s great to see Nana Patekar back on screen, but on the other it’s criminal to see him being wasted like this as there is nothing about the character that stands out.
One can see a desperate Aejaz Gulab trying to be different and real at the same time. The film just runs aimlessly with nothing that entertains you.
Guess the makes of Ab Tak Chhappan 2 were not making a good film but were out there to ruin the lasting impression we all have about Ab Tak Chhappan.
Avoid watching Ab Tak Chhappan 2, sit at home, get a DVD of Ab Tak Chhappan and have fun.
