Well, for her real life portrayal of a feisty cop in Mardaani, Rani Mukerji has been honoured by the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with the IAS officers of the state.
According to reports, Madhya Pradesh government had organized a felicitation ceremony in Bhopal for Rani Mukerjii on September 12, 2014 which was attended by many state bureaucrats. It is being said that when the actress received the invitation from the state government about this function, she immediately responded to the message positively.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan even inaugurated Filmotsav 2014 along with Rani Mukerji. Filmotsav 2014 is jointly being organized by Madhya Pradesh IAS Officers Association and Madhya Pradesh Madhyam at Ravindra Bhavan.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also urged people to take pledge to protect dignity and honour of girls and obliterate the mindset behind crimes against women. He believes that the society can be transformed through daughters.
Informing about exempting film Mardaani from tax in Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the film is in itself a mission. He urged film actress Rani Mukerji to carry forward her good work for the welfare of society.
Released on August 22, 2014, Mardaani has been inspired from the real life story of a cop who works against child trafficking, Rani Mukerji played the role of a strong headed CBI officer who is on a mission to hunt down the man who runs a racket of flesh trade.
Considering that the film deals with a realistic subject like human trafficking, Mardaani was declared tax free in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
