In one of the scenes from Karan Johar’s film, there’s a scene from his own film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham playing on TV. We won’t divulge much details but will just say that it was hilarious. There are many scenes in Lust Stories that will make you go through a hell lot of emotions.
The team of Bombay Talkies – Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerji & Karan Johar reunite to make four films (of about 30 minutes each) in Lust Stories. The title of the film is somewhat self-explanatory not just because of the lust element but also because all films have great stories to tell.
Anurag Kashyap’s film starring Radhika Apte is about a teacher and her relationships with different men. Radhika Apte plays her part to perfection and her character makes us question about relationships. Many eye-brow raising moments are guaranteed in this one.
Zoya Akhtar’s film starring Bhumi Pednekar shows us how we tend to discriminate people who are less privileged than us and that too as per our own convenience. Bhumi Pednekar hardly has any dialogues but says a lot through her body language and expressions.
Dibakar Banerji’s film talks about a woman who is finding it difficult to cope with being a wife & a mother which perhaps leada her in taking some drastic, questionable steps. Manisha Koirala is excellent and so is Sanjay Kapoor.
Karan Johar’s story is the funniest. It’s about a newly-wed wife who is not really happy with her husband due to things we can’t reveal. It leads to a highly improbable but hilarious climax. The film is greatly benefited by the wonderful performances of Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal & Neha Dhupia.
All stories mainly revolve around women and are deftly done. They mostly tell us that it’s completely okay for women to have dreams and desires of their own. We give Lust Stories 4 stars with a huge kink and highly recommend that you watch it.
