Love Sonia Movie Review: Brutal in its true form

It is that sting of a bee that will leave a mark but also will pain long after you leave the theatres.

Debutant director Tabrez Noorani has given the world an eye opener with his film. It shows why it took him 13 years to complete this venture, as so many stories along with Sonia has been shared through this film and when you watch it, you won’t be able to ever forget it.

When a poor farmer father (Adil Hussain) was faced with an extreme financial crisis, his impotence leads him to a decision to sell one of his daughter Preeti (Riya Sisodiya) to a procurer. Upon finding this truth, Sonia (Mrunal Thakur) begs to Dada Thakur (Anupam Kher) be sent to the same place where Preeti is.

She doesn’t realize what she’s getting herself into, she only cares for her sister and is willing to go lengths for her. The story is nerve wrecking and not easy to digest. It leaves you with an unsettling feeling that you won’t even feel like eating anything during the movie.

Brilliant performances by the strong cast have made this film even more so intense and real. Mrunal Thakur has got her name in the list of debutants who stunned the audiences with their first performance.

Manoj Bajpayee in his evil role is plain hatred, you won’t enjoy his scenes but will definitely praise the actor for his brilliant performance. Riya Sisodiya in her role is a delight to watch, if only she got more screen time. Rajkumar Rao’s role is the ray of hope in the entire movie along with a strong performance by Richa Chaddha.

Freida Pinto sparkles brightly in her performance as a lost minded prostitute who doesn’t care about anything or anyone anymore. In all, this movie is needed, people need to watch this one but only watch it if you have can swallow the truth.

We give love Sonia 5 stars with a huge kink.
