Onir’s Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz released this Valentine’s Week, and if you are planning a bae date night, let’s get this straight, this is not something you are looking for. This social media love story is no less than a bunch of stupid shayaris our uncles and aunt send us in a family group which we always avoid. Just like that, you can give this one a skip too!
A night RJ, Alfaaz, played by Zain Khan Durrani is a full-time loner, who is afraid to sleep with the lights off, hence working late till night and avoiding every possible thing that makes him lonely. An ad agency employee Archie (Geetanjali Thapa) dials a wrong number for a Tinder date, ends up taking the conversation ahead with Alfaaz. Unaware of his whereabouts and reality, she gets hooked with a random guy, whom she names Ittefaq on her cell phone. After a number of forwards shared between the duo, which is apparently nothing but Alfaaz’ Shayari during his night trail, they decide to meet and give away a past that holds them back. A guilt-tripped teenage mistake leads Alfaaz to his world of words and awestruck by his magical poems, Archi founds solace in her patched skin.
It’s Chavi, Alfaaz’ past story that brings a bit of freshness to this random WhatsApp/Tinder story, but nothing to drool over for days. In fact, this story will just make you delete your WhatsApp right away.
We give Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz 1.5 stars only.
