Kedarnath

Feature Name: Kedarnath
Cast: Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan, Nishant Dahiya, Nitish Bharadwaj, Pooja Gor, Alka Amin
Director: Abhishek Kapoor

Kedarnath is a fine love story set during the Uttarakhand Flash Floods of 2013.

Sara Ali Khan plays Mukku, a feisty Hindu girl who falls for a Muslim guy named Mansoor (Sushant Singh Rajput). As you might’ve guessed, it’s far from a ‘they loved happily ever after’ saga mainly because Sara is already engaged and her father doesn’t approve of Sushant. That’s pretty much all that we can tell you at the moment about the film.

The first half of the film, mainly spent in establishing Sara & Sushant’s love story, is pretty breezy and fun. In the second half, when the complications arise, it seems a bit forced. But when the disaster strikes, it actually enhances the film to a great extent. The last half-an-hour or so of the film seems very real and is gripping to say the least.

Sushant Singh Rajput is excellent. He’s especially good in the emotional scenes. Sara Ali Khan delivers a promising debut. In fact, it doesn’t look like her debut film at all. Yup, she’s that good and has a great on-screen presence. The rest of the cast do a fine job.

Kedarnath will make you laugh and even cry. We give it 3 stars with a kink.
