While Gaurang Shah gave an insight into traditional Indian fabrics, Masaba Gupta showed fusion in fashion and last but not the least it was the sexy and stunning evening wear by designer Rocky S, that set the mood at the IIFA 2015 Fashion Extravaganza.
Hosted by Vivek Oberoi and Neha Dhupia, the event on Saturday (June 06, 2015) brought music, fashion and film stars together.
It began on a musical note with Nakash Aziz singing Bollywood numbers like Dhating Naach, Pyaar Ki Pungi Baja Kar and Gandi Baat, for which singer Mika Singh got on the stage and joined him.
Once the models started to walk the down the ramp in Gaurang Shah’s creations, the music went from contemporary dance numbers to classics such as In Aankhon Ki Masti and Chalte Chalte.
Titled Umrao, the collection had about twenty six traditional looks. From lehengas to saris, churidars to intricteally crafted kurtas in pink, yellow, golden, red and purple made everyone take notice of this connection.
Sonu Sood walked the ramp with a stole around his neck and kurta pyjamaa as a showstopper for the designer.
This was followed by Aditi Singh Sharma setting the stage on fire with Dhoom Machale Dhoom and Sooraj Dooba Hai.
Masaba Gupta has her collection that was inspired by IIFA’s sun shaped award. Stars like R. Madhavan, Kanika Kapoor and Lisa Haydon walked the ramp for this talented designer.
Her collection had gold and black in abundance. Masaba Gupta teamed up her nine yard with collared blouses, jackets, pants and shirts, thus giving her collection a distinct look.
Before Rocky S presented his western collection, Nakash and Aditi Singh again got on stage and raised the energy level of the audience with a performance.
Rocky’s show began with actress Dia Mirza sashaying down the ramp in a dream gown. The collection went on to feature body-hugging dresses, a gown with high slit and skirts with frills.
Lauren Gottlieb too walked the ramp for Rocky, looked stunning in a black one shoulder gown, while Bipasha Basu, also joined the others in a stunning black dress.
IIFA Fashion Extravaganza is a part of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend And Awards.This year the awards were held in Malaysia.
