Even though the ending was a bit too much to digest, the movie will remind you of the antics between you and your mom.
Helicopter Eela is a story revolving around the complicated relationship of a mother Eela (Kajol) and her son Vivaan (Riddhi Sen). Helicopter Eela talks about the important issue of how dreams have no expiry date. An aspiring singer Eela decides to join the college with her son and how the relationship gets complex is what the rest of the story revolves around.
Kajol plays the character of a doting mother the same way she did it in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum. In Helicopter Eela, she scolds her son, she argues with him and she slaps him too often (the worst part is that each laugh will leave you in splits), but its all because of her love for him. In short her life revolves around her son played by Riddhi Sen like a Helicopter. Riddhi Sen, who has a national award to his name had to play a college going boy who is sometimes annoyed by her mom’s antics even though he loves her. The acting in the movie is up to the quality standard but what is below par is the script of the movie. If the script was well written, the film would have delivered what was promised in the trailer. The direction of Pradeep Sarkar is not as close as a shadow of his previous work.
While Kajol is the diamond (hardest metal), the script of the movie is the weakest metal whichever i.e.
