Dia Mirza looked stunning in a marigold yellow chandari anarkali with a contrasting purple dupatta, for her Mehendi Ceremony. Gold jewellery and flawless make-up made her look gorgeous.
Dia Mirza was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Frank Handrich, was a German graphic and industrial fair designer, architect, artist and interior designer from Munich and her mother, Deepa is a Bengali Hindu who is an interior designer, landscaper and currently does social work as a volunteer to help alcoholics and addicts.
They separated when she was four years old.Her father died when she was nine and her mother married Ahmed Mirza, who died in 2003. She adopted her mother’s surname and has recently adopted the last name of her birth-father, becoming Dia Mirza Handrich.
Boman Irani is a fatherly figure to Dia Mirza and will do all the rituals of a father.
“Boman Irani is someone who I’ve always called pop and share a special bond with. When we were shooting for Lage Raho Munnabhai he has told me that whenever I will get married, he would like to give me away. So, he’s going to be performing all the rituals that a father needs to perform at the ceremony.” stated Dia Mirza.
Speaking about what the bride would be wearing on all functions, well the winner of Miss Asia Pacific 2000, Dia Mirza has everything sorted.
“Ritu Kumar has designed my main wedding outfit. It was a promise I made to her when I was eighteen years old and I had stars in my eyes when I asked her one day when I get married will you do my clothes. She promised me she would, and I am so excited after all these years that she’s actually made a beautiful joda for me and I can’t wait to wear it. Shantanu and Nikhil have designed my post wedding ceremony dinner outfit and I am wearing Anita Dongre at the sangeet.” informs a radiant Dia who just cannot stop smiling.
Dia took on to Twitter to thank everyone and wrote, “With my happiness. Thank you to all those who have conveyed such warm messages here. Sahil and I are grateful.”
