He has loads of talent, he lets his work speak for himself and he is one of the most underrated actors in Bollywood today; well, we are talking about Darshan Kumaar, who has always strived to do good work.
According to me he needs to be equally credited for the success of Mary Kom because if not for Onler Kom, Mary Kom would not have been The Mary Kom.
In the film, Darshan Kumaar essays the character of Onler Kom, Mary Kom’s (Priyanka Chopra) husband, who went out of his way to support the dreams of his lady love and saw to it that she did what she always wanted to.
Darshan Kumaar, moved from Delhi to Mumbai and worked with the Sahej Theatre Group for five years and later with Motley Productions where he met Naseeruddin Shah.
With a lot of dedication and perseverance he worked on his craft for almost ten years and one first got to see him in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev essaying the role of Shukracharya.
It as around this time that he auditioned for the Mary Kom and they say the rest is history.
What’s commendable of him is the fact that he never let success change him and has always been grounded and committed towards his craft.
However, the recently released NH10, where he essayed the role if Satbir, has made everyone take notice of the immensely gifted actor who is here to say.
What’s commendable about Darshan is the fact that in both the films, Mary Kom and NH10, he never had an author backed role, but he still managed to give it his all, thus making them memorable.
To be a great actor, you should do what criminals do, breaks the rules and strive for something better and that’s what Darshan Kumaar is here for.
Here’s wishing this talented actor many for success in the future.
