Daddy’s Home Movie Review

Sean Anders’s Daddy’s Home is all set to hit the screens today in India. The movie stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Linda Cardellini. Well, after watching the trailer the film looked like a hilarious comedy. So, is it enough to tickle your funny bone? Let’s find out…

Plotline:

The movie is about Brad (Will Ferrell) who is staying with his wife Sara (Linda Cardellini) and step-children Megan (Scarlett Estevez) and Dylan (Owen Vaccaro). His step-kids have not accepted him as their dad yet, and Brad tries his best to get an acceptance from them. As they start gelling up, Sara’s ex-husband, and Megan and Dylan’s real father, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), enters their life. Dusty is a cool dad that every kid wants. And this starts a competition between Brad and Dusty, as they try to prove themselves as the best dad. Who will win – Brad or Dusty? Watch the movie to know that.

Story:

The movie is written by Brian Burns. The story of the movie is good, but why would anybody allow his wife’s ex-husband to stay in their house? While the story has a few glitches, screenplay written by Brian Burns, Sean Anders and John Morris, saves the film. The movie has many laugh-out-loud moments and there are also a few light-hearted scenes that will make you smile. In a comedy flick, we expect that the writers come up with something that tickles our funny bone, and Brian, Sean and John have written the screenplay keeping in mind the entertainment factor.

Direction:

Sean Anders, who has written the screenplay, has directed the film as expected. There’s no doubt that his style of narrating this comedy flick is impressive. Julio Macat’s cinematography is good and editing done by Eric Kissack and Brad Wilhite is fine. However, a few scenes could have been edited out.

Acting:

Will Ferrell steals the show in this multi-starrer. He is exceptional as the stepfather who wants his kids to accept him as their dad. His comic timing is excellent, so much so that his performance will remain with you after the film is over. Mark Wahlberg as Dusty looks hot and has done his part quite well. Linda Cardellini as Sara is very good. The movie stars two child actors – Scarlett Estevez and Owen Vaccaro. But, it’s the former who steals the show. She is damn cute and her expressions are adorable.

Daddy’s Home Movie Review – Final Verdict:
