The sequel to the superhit Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is here. The witty dialogues and the amazing humor had everyone rolling with laughter in the first movie and it seems the same is going to happen in the second edition. The film which is slated to release on October 16th and which had got a ‘UA’ certificate from the censor board has been changed to an ‘A’ certificate.
The producer of the film Kumar Mangat also confirmed the news, “Yes, we have received an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC but we always knew that we would get the same. In fact, the board did suggest a few alterations to the film with which PKP 2 would have received a UA rating, but we preferred to retain the objectionable portions and go with an Adults only rating.”
Abhishek Pathak further added to the news, he said, “Since the release of PKP in 2011, there have been a lot of changes in the CBFC’s guidelines, and due to that we have received an ‘A’ rating.” Elaborating on the same Abhishek asserts, “See what worked for the first film were the dialogues, the unabashed, true to life kind of lingo that we use in daily life. Now we have retained a similar line of dialogues in PKP 2 as well but with the new guidelines that state that even a word like ‘saala’ must be beeped out, we faced a an impasse where we either had to beep out the words for a ‘UA’ certificate or retain them and go with an ‘A’ certificate. After the CBFC’s recommendations we did discuss the matter and decided to retain the dialogues as they are and go with the ‘A’ rating”.
