Bollywood Express Grief Over Flood Affected Jammu And Kashmir Via Twitter

bollywoodThere has been lots that’s happening in Jammu And Kashmir as far as Bollywood is concern. From Haider to the very recent Shapath on Life OK, all these projects have been shot at various picturesque locations of the valley and now when there has been a natural calamity, Bollywood took on to Twitter in a big way to express what they feel about the situation.

Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of of Jammu and Kashmir stated that the situation was improving in Jammu, but remains grim in Kashmir. “The situation is slowly going back to normalcy in Jammu, while in Kashmir, the situation has become worse,” he was quoted as saying in a report.

As newspapers and channels label it the worst flood in six decades as over two thousand three hundred villages are affected, and nearly three hundred and fifty villages are submerged and if this was not enough the death toll is constantly rising.

Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Anupam Kher, Manit Joura, Kunal Kemmu, Kay Kay Menon and many more took on to Twitter to express their feelings and are hoping that the situation improves soon.

“Hope and Pray the flood situation in Kashmir gets controlled sooner than soon.” wrote Shah Rukh Khan.

“Praying for abatement of floods in Kashmir. Courage to the rescuers and patience and faith to an anguished people.” says Boman Irani

“Hope and Pray the flood situation in Kashmir gets under control as soon as possible. Was just there a week ago. Shocked.” wrote Manit Joura on Twitter.

“My Aunt and Cousin are stuck in Raj Bagh Srinagar in Kashmir in the floods and water had reached the first floor. They are waiting for help. Prayers for one and all stuck in the floods in Kashmir.” Farah Khan Ali wrote on her Twitter account.

“It is a terrible thing to happen. I am really concerned about the people there. But the army is doing a great job. The crisis management team is working hard, and the government is doing its best.” stated Anupam Kher.

“I pray that the situation is brought under control. When a similar incident happened in Uttarakhand, we all know how badly it (the area) was affected. I am concerned about the safety of the people there.” wrote Kunal Kemmu.

Kay Kay Menon wrote, “Like all citizens, I, too, am upset. I hope that the people there are taken care of. We also need to take care of our environment like it’s our home. If our home doesn’t exist, we won’t. I pray that things get better.”

We do hope and pray that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir gets under control as soon as possible.
