Kausar Munir is possibly the only female lyrics writer who has big banner and plum projects under her belt. Her songs are simple, meaningful at times if not always but for sure have a soul.
What’s striking about Kausar is the fact that she never planned to become a lyricist and so there was not real preparation as such for the same.
She was writing for the show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin where she met her co-writer Vijay Krishna Acharaya (Victor) who was planning to start his first film Tashan.
Kausar very casually told Victor that if the film takes off then she would like to pen a song for the same. Well the film did take off and she penned the song Falak Tak Chal Saath Mere. Post which offers started coming in but it was Pareshaan from Ishqzaade that made everyone take notice of Kausar Munir.
She is Bollywood’s most upcoming lyricist who has changed the palette of words and chords for new romantic love songs.
Among her contemporaries, she finds Amitabh Bhattacharya and Irshad Kamil really good but is a Gulzar fan. For her Gulzar is her inspiration.
According to her songs like DK Bose (Delhi Belly) are are completely no but her recent song Madmiyaan from the film Tevar is classy yet is applying to the frontbencher.
Year 2014 has been a good one for Kausar as she has been part of films like Main Tera Hero, Heropanti and Daawat-e-Ishq.
Today, she is more active in Bollywood, but I is open to doing television as well. She is a good multi-tasker and a mother of a beautiful daughter.
Her work reflects the person she is – clean, unadulterated and deep routed.
Here’s wishing this talented lady a very happy birthday.
