Bidita Bag: Censor Board Acts Like Our Grandparents

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag starrer, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has created a wave of revolution around the entire industry. Despite giving Babumoshai A certificate, Central Board of Film Certification chief, Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani has ordered 48 cuts for this film, leaving the makers furious. The film producer, Kiran Shroff, had also filed a complaint against some of the CBFC members on account of misbehavior.

She said,

“They asked me, being a woman how am I ready to produce such a movie? Again, one of the members also said that I am not a woman because I am wearing a pant shirt.”

After this entire scenario, the makers lodged a complaint in IFTDA (Indian Films And Director’s Association) regarding this whole matter, and a press conference was held to discuss the entire situation.

On this, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ actress, Bidita said,

“The Censor Board reminds me of my grandparents. My grandparents used to tell me not to do this, not to go there, not to wear this and the Censor Board is doing the same thing. People are quite smart to know what to watch and what not to watch. Nobody stops anyone to watch porn, then why to stop anyone from watching any movie? A certificate means Adult i.e. 18 years and above. So even after giving an A certificate, why to cut the scenes? I would request the Censor Board to stop being our grandparents, and to just do their job i.e to give A or U or a U/A certificate.”

Bidita, we hope that the Censor Board listens to you, and allows the movie to release without major cuts and an A certificate.
