Firstly Saif Ali Khan was “WOW” and we say it like this cause mimicry is the greatest form of flattery.

Baazaar is the film of a small town guy whose life’s dream is to become like his business tycoon, money monger Shakun Kothari.  Baazaar starring Saif Ali Khan as Shakun Kothari and Rohan Mehra as Rizwan Ahmed in lead revolves around money, power and their greed for it. It is a classic story of mentor Shakun Kothari and his prodigee Rizwan Ahmed set in the backdrop of the stock market and seems heavily inspired by Oliver Stone‘s 1987 Oscar-winning Wall Street.

Having said that it won’t take anything out of your viewing experience. The scenes are shot in posh locations which resonate with the 10 digit numbers of the amount of money that Shakun and Rizwan deal in. The direction of Gauravv Chawla shows his experience that he has been accumulating over 15 years as he assisted in many films since 2003’s Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan) starrer Kuch Na Kaho.

Saif Ali Khan just like his applaudable dialogue “World’s best marathon runner ka naam bata?” and in my heart, I wanted to say Saif Ali Khan in Bollywood cause when his other contemporaries are comfortable in their pace Saif is making huge strides and beating them one by one by choice of characters. Saif’s Shakun Kothari is like a tiger ready to pounce on his prey (in this case profits) while Rizwan Ahmed is the cute cat with twinkle in his eye and dreams to become the Lion someday played by Rohan Mehra; the debutant puts his earnest and sincere efforts to play his small town boy with huge dreams role. Chitrangda and Radhika Apte have important roles but don’t have to do the heavy lifting.
Shakun is a character who has a calculator (to count his money) in place of his heart, while Rohan Mehra is aiming to become like Shakun but has his heart in the right place.
Adhure Lafz is out of place but the jumpy Kem Cho track is certainly the favourite track of the year.
The dialogues and costumes are the USP of the feel of the movie.
We recommend this movie to all those who dream of earning loads of money and power. So basically everyone.

We at Kinky Little Boots Give BAAZAAR 4 STAR With a ‘rally’ of kinks.
And Saif Ali Khan is Gold, everyone has invested in him.
