One cannot still forget songs like Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja from the film Carvan, Dum Maro Dum from Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Dil Cheez Kya Hai from Umrao Jaan, Hoja Rangeela from the film Ranjeela, just to name a few.
In an interview Asha Bhosle had confessed that she would be indebted to O.P.Nayyar for making her a star and R.D.Burman for exploited her hidden talent.
”I shall remain obliged to Nayyar Sahab for making me a star but he never experimented with my voice. Nayyar was aware that I sang well at low pitch hence he only created that kind of songs which suited my voice. Hence there was no challenge but it was Pancham who exploited my hidden talent.” she had stated in an interview.
At this age, she performs live on stage and earlier this year rocked Paris with her melodious renditions. Asha Bhosle recently launched her single, Bappa Morya, which features her granddaughter Zanai.
