A model, an actor, wife and now a doting mother; Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has had a long and fruitful journey post her pageant winning days.
Aishwarya Rai, who completed two decades after being crowned as Miss World yesterday, decided to celebrate her joy in an all unique way and dedicate her success to a noble cause.
In the two decades that has passed since she won Miss World, Aishwarya has become a top Bollywood actress, an internationally known brand ambassador for L’Oreal and a regular and feted presence at the Cannes Film Festival. Along the way, she married actor Abhishek Bachchan and is now mother to three year old Aaradhya.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrated twin joys on the anniversary of her Miss World Title as the Smile Train Goodwill Ambassador. She gifted a hundred children suffering from the cleft lip free surgery and also dedicated this to her father KrishnaRaj on the eve of his seventy sixth birthday. While announcing this Aishwarya got emotional and even had tears in her eyes.
“November is an important month for me, my daughter Aaradhya just turned three and its my father’s birthday tomorrow.” stated an emotional Aishwarya.
She spent the day with the kids from Smile Train Organisation along with her dad Krishnaraj Rai.
At the event Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also seen mingling with the kids and even cut a cake with them.
The Aishwarya Rai Foundation which is run and managed by Krishnaraj Rai undertook the surgeries which were done in association with Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft lip and palate charity.
She later also interacted with the doctors, staff, cleft children and their families. She also spent time at the post-operative ward interacting with children, sharing nursery rhymes and stories.
