Aamir Khan is the latest voice to join the ongoing debate surrounding the All India Bakchod Roast, which saw some cheap and below the belt comments of celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar along with some other wannabe’s.
Aamir Khan admitted that though he hasn’t seen the video, he heard about it and saw a couple of clips. “After the Roast, I happened to be at a place where Karan and Arjun were also present. They told us about how they did this Roast and all the dialogues that were exchanged at the event. I was deeply affected by that and disappointed in what I was hearing.” stated Aamir Khan at an event.
The talented actor stated that though he’s all for freedom of speech, he believed that the freedom comes with a lot of responsibility. According to him there was a lot of violence in that event. He stated that violence does not always have to be physical, it’s also verbal and emotional.
Aamir Khan went on to add that he scolded both Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for doing what they did and made it very clear that The AIB Knockout was in bad taste.
However, Karan Johar did not take Aamir’s stand in the right spirit. He took on to Twitter and wrote, “Silence can mean several things. Strength, Weakness and indifference. To me it always signifies dignity. Which is above everything else!.”
The video that went viral has been pulled down after it stirred controversy for its expletive content and they have also apologised to the Christian community for their jokes.
All said and done, we would like to salute Aamir Khan for speaking his mind and and whatever he spoke was justified.
Hat’s Off Aamir!!!
